March Thursday social hosted by Lisa to get us all back in the (climbing) shape before the start of the season:
Feeling a bit tight from a lack of climbing? Wanna prepare for the summer season? I will take some (amateur) stretches to help you get a bit more flexible for spring! Sambuca is optional!

Join us next Friday the 26 February for this exciting talk about climbing in Donegal.
Two Colmcille climbers Geoff Thomas and Alan Tees have generously agreed to help the BCC with another one of our virtual get-togethers. Both are experienced climbers and mountaineers, Alan is also the author of a variety of scrambeling and climbing guides, as well as co-author of recently published Irish Peaks.
As always, this BCC talk is free and all are welcome. For joining info click here

EDIT: Moved to 14 January
We will start at 8pm by a talk from our beloved president Jamie, who will summarize all that was going on in the club in 2020. Perhaps not the busiest year in terms of climbing trips, there was still plenty going on. Join if you want to hear about other members’ climbing adventures and achievements. As always, Q&A, chats and drinks will follow after the talk.
In order to help Jamie to prepare his talk, we kindly ask our members to complete a short form to share their favourite/most unpleasant climbing and hiking moments of 2020. The form should take about 1-2 minutes to complete. We would be really glad to hear from you, no matter how big or small were your achievements. Link to the form here: https://forms.gle/TkRt4wiyHxTwu7An9
Join the club for one of our regular virtual socials, this time hosted by Paul. The link to join will be shared via email and in the club Facebook and WhatsApp group.
Another Friday social, this time with a talk from Rónán.
Ever got bored of climbing? Maybe go out for a hike in the Mournes. 90 km (56 miles) hike. With over 6500 m elevation gain - about 8 times the height of Donard. Here is the catch, you have to do this in under 24 hrs. Sounds like fun? It certainly did to our very own Rónán, who took part in this challenge (called the Denis Rankin Round) this summer. He will entertain us with his story of great determination (and a little madness) during the November Friday Social.
The talk will be followed by a Q&A session, general banter and virtual socialising.
Link to the event will be shared via BCC Facebook page and WhatsApp group.
Open to all members and friends of the BCC.
As we can't catch up at the Ozone, let's catch up online! Everyone welcome, whether you’ve been in the club for years or only joined recently.
We’ll be using Google Meets – a link to join will be shared via Facebook page and WhatsApp on the day. Or just email us directly at info@belfastclimbingclub.co.uk if you are interested to attend.
Join us for some organised fun on the last Friday in October. This month, we are planning a virtual quiz organised by Eva. Nothing to be won but your honour, nothing to be lost but your pride! Halloween costumes optional but strongly encouraged.
The event wil be held via Google Meets, link will be shared on club Facebook page and the WhatsApp group. If you don’t have either just email the club at info@befastclimbingclub.ac.uk.
To answer the questions in the Quiz, we will be using Google forms. For your own convenience we recommend opening the Google forms link on your phone or other device - so you don’t have to click between different tabs in your browser since questions will be displayed on the shared screen.
Hope this all makes sense, any questions just send us an email or comment on Facebook.
Eva, club social secretary
