We are having our first away trip in a year! The plan is to go to Gola, a wonderful island off the west coast of Donegal, however if this does not work out, we will still go to Donegal, but to Inishowen. Both areas have granite cliffs with a big range of climbing grades. We will be wild camping, this means no facilities, you will need to bring all of your food for the trip to the island (not so important for Inishowen) and there are no toilets or showers, the sea will be your bathroom (byo toilet roll). There will be a fresh water tap a short walk from the campsite which you can get drinking water from.
Gola and Inishowen are both Traditional (Trad) Climbing, if you are not familiar or comfortable with trad climbing this trip may not be for you. We are not a teaching club, if you are not comfortable leading trad, setting up anchors or abseiling you may not find this the most enjoyable trip, teaching inexperienced members is at the discretion of the more experienced club members.
