INTERESTED IN JOINING OUR CLUB?
In order to participate in roped climbing at the Ozone Complex the Belfast Climbing Club requires that you have at minimum your own rock shoes and harness, and the ability to tie-in and top-rope belay, this ensures the safety of all our members as we do not provide climbing instruction. However, this does not prevent you from going to Boulder World, this style of climbing requires no ropes, and equipment such as rock shoes and chalk bags can be rented at Boulder World, but the club doesn’t officially meet here.
If you are new to the sport we recommend that you contact Ozone or Tollymore National Outdoor Centre, who do a range of courses including an introduction to indoor rope walls. Or alternatively instruction can be provide by one of the many amazing Mountaineering Ireland affiliated mountain guides, such as Jonny Parr via Jonny Parr Climbing.
For those who already know the basics and are simply interested in joining the growing Belfast Climbing community, then simply pop down to Ozone on Thursdays and say hi! Additionally, you can come to one of our socials, in both cases no membership is required before tagging along!
